Course aims
To deepen the knowledge about consumer issues, to inform about consumerism relationships with society, the economy and the Environment. To guide students to think about sustainability of everyday
consumption.
Brief description of the course
Protected, informed, healthy and responsible consumers. Consumer attitudes and needs. An overview of the rational consumption, consumer rights and obligations in Estonia. Advertising and its influence. Consumption and environment. Products and food security. Consumer information.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Ability to critically evaluate and analyze the environment of the modern consumer; is able to define various aspects of consumption, is able to assess the impact of consumption on the environment.
