Course aims
To reinforce and develop in-depth the knowledge and skills of the advanced vocal technique. To develop the knowledge and skills related to performance.
Brief description of the course
Develops further and reinforces the basis of the vocal technique in accordance with repertoire from different eras. The stress is on musical expression and development of independent voice-work skills. Independent work: Student prepares independently for lessons songs and vocalise according to music notation. Follows the correct rhythm. Know and understand the meaning of the lyrics (according to chosen repertoire in Estonian, Italian, German, French or Russian language).Class attendance required.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Knows how to use and guide the voice in different registers according to the requirements of the vocal technique. Is familiar with the principles of singing and knows how to apply the principles in the repertoire performed. At the school concert the student shall perform four pieces of different character and different era in accordance with the requirements of the vocal technique.
1. Classical aria or song
2. Stage music
3. Song from Estonian composer
4. Optional song
The chosen program consists of at least two pieces in foreign language.
