Course aims
To reinforce and to develop in-depth the knowledge and skills of the vocal technique. To broaden the independent voice-work skills and skills for coping with performances.
Brief description of the course
The student develops and reinforces further the basis of the vocal technique. Work continues with breathing, use of the resonation system and expansion of the voice range. The stress is on musical expression and development of independent voice-work skills. The student shall undertake a varied repertoire of medium difficulty encompassing different eras and styles.Independent work: Student prepares independently for lessons songs and vocalise according to music notation. Follows the correct rhythm. Know and understand the meaning of the lyrics (according to chosen repertoire in Estonian, Italian, German, French or Russian language).Class attendance required.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student is able to use and direct his voice in different registers in accordance with the requirements of vocal technique. The student is familiar with the principles of singer’s breathing and uses them in the repertoire undertaken. The stress is on the interpretation and musical expression of the works performed. At the school concert the student shall perform four pieces of different character in accordance with requirements of the vocal technique.

Additional information
Class attendance required.Given repertoire is acquired and memorised for performing on stage. Student follows and applies knowledge according to the requirements of basic vocal technique.
