Course aims
Introducing the chosen apart wind or percussion instrument, getting acquainted with the history of the instrument and its repertoire and the basics of the playing technique.
Brief description of the course
Students are taught to play one wind or percussion instrument over the minor instrument. Its history is introduced as well as its relations with other instruments, physical basis of sound producing, sound system of the instrument, right body posture when playing, holding the instrument, breathing, blowing, the work of the tongue, lip position, articulation, articulation marks. Major keys up to the 3rd key signature, etudes and short pieces with to develop various techniques of playing.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Student is capable of playing in chosen instrument Major scales up to the 3rd key signature.
Acquired basic knowledge and skills of the playing technique.
