Course aims
To create opportunities for analysing, developing and evaluating the training activities of an adult educator. – to have awareness of and support the social identity of the educator.
- to analyse, develop and use social and communicative skills in a particular practice activity and practice context.
Brief description of the course
Social identity of an adult educator. Social abilities and preparedness of the educator. Self-image and communication. Communication tools and personal influence. Self-reflection techniques. The educator as a supporter of student learning, leader of group processes and shaper of cooperation. Dialogue-based relationships. Basis of interaction. Micro-learning. Analysis of the communication and behavioural models and use of various methods of the educator in the training process. Personal and social resources of the educator, and their analysis. Professional qualifications and applying for them.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the communication-centred principles of shaping the learning process;
- plans and carries out a micro-lesson with a focus on student learning;
- analyses their activities as an educator and gives feedback;
- understands their social abilities and methodological choices while training;
- defines their development prospects as an adult educator;
- has awareness of their personal and social resources.
