Course aims

Getting acquainted with 1st grade students and their teacher during their first school week and being able to observe how students adjust to purposeful learning activity.

Brief description of the course

Getting to know the work organisation of the school of pedagogical practice. Teacher in organising the work of children in 1st grade. Participating in preparing and conducting the first school day. Observing 1st grade students and interpreting, describing and analyzing what one has seen. Participating in group work in the final seminar and summarizing the practice.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the specificity of 1st grade studies;
- observes and analyzes the 1st grade children´s adaptation with school and the development of their cooperation skills;
- can formulate, present and justify relevant standpoints from his/her own perspective.
