Course aims

Create possibilities for primary school teachers to acquire necessary theoretical knowledge, didactical and practical skills in visual art education and support the formation of proficiencies in primary school teachers teaching visual art education in grades 4 to 6.

Brief description of the course

Developmental trends in modern music education. Research, analysis, performing and developing. Schedule, tests. Materials, techniques, and means of visual expression, their utility possibilities. Analysing a visit to an art exhibition.
Comprehending the content of study prescribed by the national visual art education syllabus and applying the possibilities in practice.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- Tries comprehend and analyse visual art phenomena and see the possibilities to teach visual art in grades 4 to 6;
- can perceive and analyse the creative process;
- has knowledge on the peculiarities and development of children from 10 to 13 years of age.
