Course aims
Connect previous teaching experience and knowledge with school reality;
Enable students to develop as primary school teachers teachers and form teachers;
Support students’ skill of communicating with school staff as teachers and forming of a consistent vocational role image;
Support students in planning their profesional development;
Enable students to value pupils’ curricular and extra-curricular activities;
Create possibilities for understanding and analysing development and educational problems of (pre)adolescent children.
Brief description of the course
The practical training takes place at the second age of basic school. Getting to know the school where the training takes place, staff and school scheme. Observation of teacher's (teachers’) lessons, giving probational lessons and lessons of the basic subject. Getting acquainted with form teacher’s duties and fulfilling them. Fulfilling individual tasks in acquainting themselves with and valuing extracurricular activities. Getting feedback about their performance, analysing and assessing it.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to consider the educational objectives while planning the educational process, national and school curricula; while teaching create links between different subjects and theme fields;
- can use knowledge, vocabulary and methods according to pupils’ age and peculiarity, which correspond properly to the subject;
- can analyse the teaching and educational process and their performance accoding to the planned objectives and basic documents, are able to plan their further activity proceeding from it;
- can prepare a teaching kit during the practice;
- follows rules of politeness and the practice of the school, proceeds from the teacher’s ethics, during their practical training cooperate with their supervisors and other people connected with the practical training.
