Course aims

The course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in multicultural and multilingual learning environments, paying particular attention to the interplay of culture and learning and designing learning environments that support the development of culturally diverse learners.

Brief description of the course

The program focuses on the interplay of culture, language and learning, providing practical tools that can be applied in various educational contexts.

The main themes of the course are the following:
- Culture, diversity and intercultural communication.
- Integration paradigms and supporting people from different cultural backgrounds in a multicultural environment ( including working with refugees and migrants)
- Multilingual learner and language-sensitive teaching
- Culturally sensitive teaching
- Global and peace education

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
understand how culture shapes learning;
analyse their attitudes related to diversity;
demonstrate the use of culturally and linguistically responsive practices;
implement global and peace education practices;
adapt learning materials to the needs of culturally diverse learners;
design a learning material for culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
