Course aims
Give an overview of the possible applications of information and communication technology (ICT) in education and support the development of a learner’s digital literacy competencies. To support the development of practical skills and educational technology competencies to use different information and communication technology (ICT) options, methods, and means to diversify the study process.
Brief description of the course
Digital competences of teacher and learner. Age appropriate and affordable digital tools implemented in a preschool child care institution. Implementing secure technology. Different possibilities to implement digital tools in studies. Learning stories and learning scenarios. Research of the field and strategic directions. Theoretical approach to ICT-based educational games. ICT-based educational games and programmes and using them in the study process of a kindergarten. Creating ICT-based educational games. Digital tools in project-based learning (including internationalisation).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyses and assesses the suitability of ICT means and their use in the learning process;
- analyses their own educational technology competencies;
- creates and uses different ICT options to plan and conduct the study process.
