Course aims
The aim of the subject is to support the digital competence of an education specialist (teacher, adult educator, youth worker, special education teacher, etc.), which allows them to plan, implement and evaluate a learning process enriched with digital technology in accordance with the national curriculum for their level of education, the teacher's professional standard and the digital competence framework.
Brief description of the course
Digital research and strategic directions. Digital competence as a general competence in the national curriculum. Digital competence of teachers and learners. Analysis and implementation of digital learning environments. Age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate digital solutions. Robotics. Possibilities and ethical use of artificial intelligence in education. Possibilities of digital technology in assessing and analysing learner development. Digital tools in formative and summative assessment. Quality criteria for digital learning materials. Creation and adaptation of digital learning games. Security, ethics and digital wellbeing. Cybersecurity and data protection. Copyright and licenses.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyzes and plans a learning process enriched with digital technology, based on the national curriculum, the developmental characteristics of learners, the principles of inclusive education, and the goals of developing digital competence;
- implements and creates digital tools for a purpose;
- environments and digital learning resources (including educational games and solutions based on artificial intelligence), ensuring their pedagogical justification, age-appropriateness, accessibility and security;
- assesses and develops learners' learning process with the support of digital tools, using the principles of formative assessment, data-based reflection and supporting the development of learners' digital competence, responsible digital behavior and digital well-being;
- reflects on and develops their professional digital competence, linking their practice to the teacher's professional standard and the relevant digital competence framework.
