Course aims
Creating opportunities for:
1) gaining knowledge of applying for research and development projects and scientific networking in Estonia and the European Union;
2) gaining basic knowledge of preparing, conducting and assessing research projects;
3) participating in the work of organisations and taking part in and organising conferences.

Brief description of the course
Research and development policy documents of Estonia and the European Union and funding opportunities for research and development. General principles of preparing, conducting and assessing research and development projects and an overview of the networks and conferences of educational scientists. Preparing an application for a research or development project in teams of up to three members. Mutual analysis and assessment of project applications. The basics of managing and administrating research projects and principles of participating in a research project.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the main funding opportunities for research projects and actions that support networking in Estonia and the European Union;
- knows how to prepare and assess project applications based on the requirements of the donor and of the research policy documents of Estonia and the European Union;
- knows the basics of project management, administering research projects and organising conferences and the principles of participating in a research project;
- has an overview of the networks of educational scientists and of opportunities for participating in them.
