Course aims
To provide an overview of children’s main socioemotional needs and their reasons, the principles of prevention and coping
Brief description of the course
Dealing the children’s social and emotional needs and reasons. Analysis of a well-functioning and dysfunctional family’s characteristics and the possibilities of social network to help the children in critical situations
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- recognizes child’s emotional and social needs and the characteristics of well-functioning and dysfunctional family;
- knows the peculiarities of child’s emotional development, the principles of development of social skills and the negative consequences of inadequate social skills;
- understands the impact of abuse on child and the importance of intervention in critical situations;
- knows the emotional and social problems of children with special needs and assistance possibilities;
- knows the possibilities of preventing and coping with difficulties in behaving and pre-school teacher’s responsibility.
