Course aims
To create the prerequisites for acquiring knowledge about the records management in the organization and the organization at the national level.
To support the formation of knowledge on the state information system and its management of the funds, thematic records management applications and records management services role in the development process.

Brief description of the course
Records and archive management systems, procedures, and sectoral. (EHIS, EIS, ÕIS, E-Toimik, SKAIS, STAR, Digilugu KOVTP, VOLIS etc.). State Portal tools for the development Records Management (DEC, ADIT). The state information system development and management coordination. State IT architecture relevant starting points: a technical interoperability, safety, openness, flexibility and scalability. State Information Management System RIHA and its components. Information Systems data exchange tool X-Road. The promotion of the exchange of documents and data between different systems. Document Exchange Centre (DEC). State Portal eesti.ee services. Estonian personal identification code and digital identity documents. Digital signature and stamp and authentication. XML repository of data descriptions and coordination.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of the state information system and its management of funds;
- is able to organize records management according to the needs of the development of the information society;
- has a knowledge of the principles of interoperability and ensuring opportunities;
- has an overview of thematic procedures and systems related to records management specifics.

Õppetöö toimub e-õppes Moodle keskkonnas loengute ja iseseisvate töödena. Praktikumides toimuvate arvestuslike tööde sooritamine on kohustuslik.

Eksami hinde moodustab iseseisvate kirjalike uurimistööde (referaatide) koondhinne.
