Course aims
To develop knowledge needed for the design, implementation, analyse and evaluation of digital library services, and users expectation and satisfaction.
Brief description of the course
Digital library services and service processes. Service quality and user satisfation in digital library: models and analysis. Framework of evaluation of digital library services. User-centred evaluation of digital library services. User studies for development of a digital library. Users involvement into the process of development of services. Use and usage of digital library. Usage of digital library (content, functionality, user interface). Components of digital library usage quality: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, satisfaction.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows a variety of models for the design and development of the digital library services;
- is able to analyse and evaluate digital library services and users` expectations and needs;
- is able to select suitable service quality model for the digital library;
- is able to plan, develop and implement digital library services.

Õppetöö toimub nii auditoorse tööna kui ka õpikeskkonnas Moodle (õppematerjalid ja õpijuhised moodulipõhises vaates). Moodulites käsitletu põhjalikumaks individuaalseks analüüsiks on iseseisvad ja/või rühmatööd (3 tööd).

Moodulite kontaktkohtumisel aktiivne osalemine (kaasatus
erialakirjanduse analüüsil tuginevatesse aruteludesse, teemakohaste
küsimuste tõstatamine vms) on arvestatav ainest kokkuvõtete tegemisel.
