Course aims
-To give students the basic knowledge and framework for understanding and using intellectual property rights (IPR).
- To create prerequisites for obtaining knowledge on the implimentation of copyright in library and information work
Brief description of the course
The content of the course is divided into: intellectual property (IP); copyright; copyright and related rights; industrial property rights (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications); international organizations and agreements of IPR.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can identify and characterize most important areas of IPR: copyright and related rights, industrial property rights and international treaties and conventions of IPR;
- can define the scope and content of IPR.
