Course aims
The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge about behaviour change theories, and develop skills for implementation of digital interventions. On the base of that knowledge students will train skills in designing digital interventions for health behavioral change.
Brief description of the course
The course consists of theoretical lectures and practical workshops that provide the required knowledge of behaviour change subjects and the specific skills for implementation of behaviour change techniques in technology.
The topics covered in the course include:
1. Digital health technologies and behaviour change;
2. Behavior change theories;
3. Intervention design & evaluation criteria;
4. Interaction design practice for behaviour change.
In the interaction design workshops, the students will apply the new knowledge to the specific problem health domain. The students will work in groups by using various UX tools, design methods.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows popular theories for behaviour psychology;
- understands the evidence-based psychological approaches to behaviour change;
- is able to use essential methods for planning and designing behavioural change strategy;
- has interaction design skills required for integration of behaviour change techniques into digital technologies for effective health promotion.
