Course aims
To provide an overview of general educational technology and digital media resources and best practices for use, implement and manage in the classroom. Create opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the practical experience, which enables better to decide which ICT tools to implement in the school environment.
Brief description of the course
Topics:
Educational ICT Infrastructure and modern school. Various ICT resources and media resources (including learning environments). The introduction of a school in the context of existing widgets - the creation of a support material for teachers, education technologist (user manual, operational manual, lesson plans, analysis). Study of the use of ICT in the context of the school. Observation and reflection journal. Usage Design Paper.
The course is 78 (3x26) hours. Contact lessons: introductory seminar (3 hours), observation seminars (12 hours) and course work submission/presentation to the others (3 hours).
Students are required to prepare a reflection of each seminar to the Internet-based journal, refer to the subject of written materials (25 hours).
Each student must provide complete Usage Design paper and present it at the last seminar to others (35 hours), which consists of one or more infrastructure resources in their future job or workplace (e.g., school).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has an overview of the most common education technology and digital media resources and their use in teaching;
- is able to write a description of educational technological infrastructure and need for development;
- is able to plan school technology education support services;
- is able to plan educational education technology and digital media management.
