Course aims
Create prerequisites for using technologies used in data science and analysis
Brief description of the course
Complex database queries, their optimization. Indexing, ranking conditions, precalculating results. Possibilities of Internet of things, automated data collection from sensors and the web. Presentation of results and control of actuators in real time. Data analysis using a programming language in a web environment. Creating data-driven videos. Examples of data processing and analysis in the field of educational technology and language technology. Structure, use, possibilities and limitations of language models.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can make appropriate extracts from relational databases even for large datasets, knows the possibilities of object-oriented databases;
- knows the possibilities of automatic data collection and processing and knows how to implement some of them;
- can create videos illustrating the change of data over time;
- knows the opportunities and problems of data science in several fields;
- can critically evaluate the possibilities of language models and apply them automatically to solve some tasks.
