Course aims
The goal of the course is to familiarise students with the field of participatory design, addressing its theoretical, methodological and practical aspects, mostly within the context of sociotechnical systems.
Brief description of the course
This course addresses mainstream and fringe aspects of participatory design through readings, discussion and critique of recent publications, mostly from the Participatory Design Conference series.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- develops an understanding of the prevalent theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of participatory design;
- is able to consider participatory design as an approach for co-creating sociotechnical systems.
