Course aims

Introduction to programming with Microsoft .NET framework.

Brief description of the course

.NET structure and possibilities. Programming languages used with .NET.
Introduction to C#. Data types, arrays, collections, object-orientation.
Input-output. Events, delegates. Existing namespaces and classes. Web
applications. Using components, creating and configuring. MS SQL Server usual and additional possibilities. Triggers, stored procedures. Database-based application developement. Sessions, authentication and authorization. Programming desktop applications. Graphical possibilities, animations. Threads, events.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows structure and possibilities of .NET framework;
- can develop desktop and web applications with it;
- can create simpler information systems with MS SQL Server.
