Course aims

To give an overview of networking and networking technologies.

Brief description of the course

Introduction to networking. Networking fundamentals. Networking Media Cable Testing. Cabling LANs and WANs. Ethernet fundamentals. Ethernet technologies. Ethernet switching. TCP/IP Protocol Suite and IP Addressing. Routing fundamentals and subnets. TCP/IP transport and application layer.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the basics of networking and different networking technologies.
