Course aims
To introduce pedagogical and technological methods of developing multimedia-based courses; to provide an integrated approach to theory and practice of instructional design, and formation of skills needed for learning design.
Brief description of the course
Basic concepts and theories of instructional design. Models of instructional design: ADDIE, Dick & Carey’s model, Reigeluth’s ISD model, Merrill’s Pebble-in-the-Pond, etc. Instructional design vs learning design. Teaching strategies. Evaluating learning systems.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can describe different conceptions and models of instructional design with the help of proper terminology;
- can select and adapt suitable online tools for creating an effective online learning environment: learning outcomes, tasks, teaching strategy, study materials.
