Course aims
The aim is to create possibility for Russian-, German- or English-speaking students (B2 level is required) to practice basic theoretical knowledge in guiding. The course is concentrated on developing professional skills of a guide with creative attitude to work.
Brief description of the course
Public speaking. Guided tour as a united narrative with certain message and emphases. Target group of a tour. Repeating and implementing of historical and cultural facts as well as terminology. Creating and using working materials. Critical attitude to information sources. Practical exercises and guided tours.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
A student who successfully accomplished the minor:
- has basic knowledge of working as a tour guide and is capable of applying it in practice
- knows well tourism terminology in Russian, German or English and is able to use it right depending on context
- is able to produce texts for guided tours taking into consideration target groups
- is able to make short guided tours in Tallinn in English, Russian or German.
