Course aims
To acquire the skill to analyze selected Estonian literary texts in detail, regarding the context, criticism and different interpretation options.
Brief description of the course
An advanced course in Estonian literature during which different Estonian literary texts are analyzed and read closely. At the same time a wider context is also considered and different interpretation options are took into account. The course consists mostly of seminars. The course is conducted by different lecturers and the selection of the literary texts depends on the narrower focus of the course and the specific lecturer.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The students have acquired the skill to analyze a literary work thoroughly and systematically and in detail; are able to relate the text to the cultural and historical context, are able to understand the different interpretation options of a literary work. They are able to formulate the ideas and thoughts provoked by literary texts and to present their analytical results reasonably and correctly both in oral and written form.
