Course aims

To form a linguistic competence on a theoretical basis of orthography of Estonian language. To give an overview on rules of Estonian orthography. To correct and expand students’ skills in orthography.

Brief description of the course

Systematic overview of basic propositions of Estonian spelling and punctuation. Main principles of contemporary Estonian spelling, rules of Estonian spelling.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- has systematic apprehension of Estonian orthography and punctuation;
- knows Estonian orthography and punctuation rules;
- is able to write according to Estonian orthography rules.
