Course aims
To develop student's ability to analyze Estonian sentences.
Brief description of the course
Practical analysis of the sentence will be exercised. Theoretical knowledge, the ability to apply that knowledge and to analyze sentences will be tested in traineeships. The student will be examine the literature, explain the nature of a single phenomenon of Estonian syntax and present the results of his research.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can analyze sentences using phrase structure grammar as a method;
- recognizes the construction of a sentence constituent and its syntactic function;
- can explain the nature of a single phenomenon of Estonian syntax.
