Course aims
- create opportunities for students to develop knowledge regarding insolvency law and procedure in its historical development context;
- develop the ability of students to recognize legal issues arising in the process of bankruptcy and reorganization procedures;
- develop the ability of students to prepare various documents, required for bankruptcy proceedings;
- develop the ability of students with regard to solving practical cases through seminar training;
- develop the ability to interpret and apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Brief description of the course
The course covers the concept of bankruptcy, commencement of bankruptcy proceedings, legal consequences of declaring bankruptcy, procedures for submitting and challenging claims, competence of bankruptcy bodies, grounds for termination of bankruptcy proceedings and grounds for releasing a natural person debtor from debts.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the terminology of bankruptcy law and understands bankruptcy procedure;
- is able to see and solve legal issues in the bankruptcy proceedings;
- is able to prepare documents necessary for bankruptcy proceedings;
- as a part of a team is able to analyze legal practice on the given topic and make reports to other students during seminar sessions;
-is able to interpret and apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
