Course aims
Compact overview of Western European great countries - Great Britain, France, Germany - political development and relations with each other since the beginning of 19th century up to II WW.
Brief description of the course
Cultural and ideological changes (influenced by nationalism, liberalism, conservatism and socialism) and mentality in the great European powers (France, Great Britain and Germany) during the 19 th century. Period of the British Empire at its peak. Unification of Germany and its rise as a prominent European state. Declining France. The First World War. Internal politics in Great Britain, France and Germany and international relations between the two world wars.
