Course aims
Chronological and compact overview of European history from 16th century reformation up to the congress of Vienna.
Brief description of the course
The History of the European World from the Reformation (1517) to the end of the French Revolution and Napoleon´s Era (1815). Religion, politics, economy, population, science, and cultural life of the most important countries in the early modern Europe. International relations in the early modern Europe. The Era of the Great French Revolution and its influence.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The student will have the basic knowledge on the research problems, historiography and key events of the modern era. Student will know the periodisation of the era and weight up the quality of argumenation from historiographic point of view. Knows the basic analytical cathegories used in historiography. Has acquired the main features of regional differences of societies and can nominate the main reasons for developmental differences. Is able to compare the ways of preception of the world of the medieval christian with that of the society of capitalist world.
