Course aims

To form an understanding of checking and assessing in History and Civics and making up tasks to check pupils’ knowledge.

Brief description of the course

Overview of legislations concerning assessment (Regulation of Assessment, Organizing the National Examination for Primary and Secondary School: Regulation No 75, Foreign Assessment of Scholastic Results: Regulation No 18), about the general questions of assessment. Introduction to the assessment guides for History and Civics in NC. The purpose is to analyse on the basis of educational outcomes in History and Social Studies the formation of educational outcomes, checking and assessment in History, to analyse level tests, final exams in primary school and national exams, to practice assessing essays on given criteria.
