Course aims

To create conditions and opportunities for improve of standard Russian, and also for studying of special literature on changes of Russian.

Brief description of the course

The codified Russian. Concept of evolution of language (linguistic and estralingvistic parameters). Language and power. Language and policy. Russian and totalitarian society. Russian in democratic society (a democratic discourse). Advertizing and language. Language and city, popular speech. Relationship of languages and dialects. Russian and mass media. Russian and Russian diaspora.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows features of development and change of Russian;
- can analyze texts of various types on the basis of the language standard;
- is able to connect various mastered knowledge and skills.
