Course aims
To support the application of theoretical perspectives, practical skills, and methodological approaches in implementing and evaluating an individual health-oriented physical activity plan that fosters motor competence and physical exercise habits.
Brief description of the course
The course focuses on modern approaches to fitness testing and technologies for collecting health and training-related data. Students will acquire skills for designing, implementing, guiding, and evaluating individualized physical activity plans.
Key topics covered:
Endurance-based physical activities: health walking, Nordic walking, jogging, roller-skating, and other suitable outdoor exercise forms.
Technical and methodological specifics: safe basic techniques, selection, and use of appropriate training environments.
Practical skills: guiding and motivating exercise practices, implementing safety measures, and developing individual capacity.
Independent work: planning, executing, and evaluating a six-week health-oriented exercise program tailored to specific target groups.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyze the suitability of health-oriented exercise programs based on individual fitness and health indicators;
- assess the appropriateness of planned activities for initiating physical exercise and general physical preparation;
- apply counseling interventions and safe methods to define optimal workloads and training volumes, as well as to guide and secure general fitness and endurance training;
- use general fitness exercises and basic techniques of various physical activity forms safely;
- consider training environments and conditions when performing different physical activity forms.
