Course aims
The aim of the subject is:
- to support the development of the professional identity of future youth workers;
- enable students to reflect on their role as youth workers;
- to support the planning and learning of professional self-development in the community of practice
- to give an overview of the concepts of profession and professionalism in the context of youth work
Brief description of the course
Topics covered in the subject course:
- profession and professionalism in the context of youth work;
- professional identity, roles and professionalism;
- reflection and reflection tools;
- professional self-development and self-care
- covision
practice and community of practice

The approximate number of contact study hours is 43 ak hours. The number of hours of independent work is 96 ak hours.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- understands himself / herself as a youth worker, identifies himself / herself as a youth worker and understands the resulting expectations and responsibilities;
- understands the development of youth work as a profession
- analyzes the needs of professional self-development and plans activities accordingly
