Course aims
Create opportunities for youth to raise awareness of the identity of the employee, the formation and development. To enable the student to reflect on their own personal characteristics and self-governance on the basis of the role of the youth worker. Provide an overview of the different aspects of self-management, and opportunities to shape one’s life worth living in and with high quality.
Brief description of the course
* Youth worker's identity and its formation.
* Youth worker’s capabilities and preparedness.
* Youth worker’s communication and behavior patterns.
* Youth worker's personality and social resources, and their analysis.
* Self-reflection techniques. Self-knowledge.
* Self-esteem and confidence. Self-confidence enhancers.
* Professional ethics. The role and behavior management principles.
* Physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is able to make sense of themselves as youth workers, youth worker identifies himself in the role, and understands hes responsibilities and obligations;
- knows youth worker roles, and has acquired a key role in the conduct and management principles;
- knows youth worker professional ethical principles and is able to follow them;
- is able to analyze and assess the impact of the youth worker's own physical, mental and emotional well-being, and plans activities according to that;
- has acquired the primary assertiveness techniques;
- understands the importance of lifelong learning for youth workers;
- knows their personal and social resources.
