Course aims
The aim of the course is to give students an overview about project management in youth work; to give knowledge of the project cycle in youth field; to introduce the key principles in writing a project; to give knowledge about various funds and programmes, that support projects in youth work and create preconditions to use those skills in practical youth work.
Brief description of the course
Basic concepts of project management. The project cycle and stages of the project. Project planning, activities and resource planning, project team, informing, evaluation. Projects in youth work. Compilation and writing a projekt, including SWOT analysis. Evaluation of the projects. Potential sources of finance in Estonia. International funding in youth field.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is familiar with the basics of project management, and can use them in organizing everyday work in youth work;
- knows how to compile and write the project using SWOT analysis;
- is able to analyze different stages of the project;
-is familiar with and is able to use a variety of local and international financial sources to fund different youth field projects.
