Course aims

Extension of written communication skills for specific purposes. Scientific language use in speech.

Brief description of the course

Improvement teaching and methodical material for language acquiring in the field of philological studies in order to form students’ skills for independent work with scientific literature. Classical texts from linguistic and literature fields of studies are used as teaching materials; exercises are based on the texts.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- understands the texts adequately;
- is able to make outlines for the texts, reports, renders and retells on the texts;
- makes theses and annotations;
- makes monologues and dialogues.
