Course aims
The goal of the course is to give an overview of small states all over the world – their chances, problems and solutions to better their chances regarding foreign and security policy.
Brief description of the course
The course begins with defining the small state and introducing the theoretical background. The course then looks at the most important small states of each region and analyses how they behave similarly or differently in the international arena. The course ends with the student writing a small state analysis and a theoretical exam.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- knows the nature and main foreign and security policies of small states;
- can analyse foreign and security policy.
