Course aims

Major. To introduce the main landscape regions, most pronounced landscape objects and environmental problems in North-Estonia in situ and to confirm and deepen understanding of material from the lectures and workshops.

Brief description of the course

Field course for becoming acquainted with the main natural regions of North-Estonia. Overview of the geological development of the region, main environmental problems, their origin, peculiarities and possibilities for mitigation.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- knows main natural regions of North-Estonia and environmental problems of that region;
- has overview of the geological development of the region, main environmental problems, their origin, peculiarities and possibilities for mitigation.
