Course aims
To develop prerequisites for the acquisition of oral and written language skills in French at B1 level (Threshold) according to ELP (the European Language Portfolio). The course is designed to target the students whose command of French equals to A2 level (Waystage) according to ELP.
Brief description of the course
The course enables students to gain the following competences: ability to talk on everyday topics, skills of retelling, listening to and writing simpler texts, ability to form and answer questions, ability to justify one’s opinions understandably, awareness of grammar (present, past, future tenses) in order to express one’s viewpoints, listening comprehension to extract relevant information.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- has In-depth knowledge about phonetics, vocabulary, morphology and syntax;
- has ability to exploit the acquired knowledge in written and oral language;
- has ability to pass an exam on B1 level.
