Brief description of the course

Integrated development of all four language skills — reading, listening, speaking and writing — in accordance with level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Analysis of the content and linguistic structures of texts. Practice of challenging grammatical points. Reception and production of texts. Forms of written expression: narration, description and discussion. Writing literary and argumentative texts. Text analysis and interpretation. Vocabulary development. Simplification and reconstruction of texts. Paraphrasing. Structuring and organising texts. Students who have proficiency in German at level B2.1 may register for the course.

Learning outcomes in the course

Upon completing the course the student:
- acquires B2+-level knowledge and skills;
- analyses structure, content, and language of texts;
- writes argumentative texts and expresses opinions coherently;
- reflects on learning strategies;
- develops intercultural competence, researches and presents topics independently and collaboratively;
- demonstrates B2-level proficiency in examination.
