Course aims
To totally support the student in choosing the wholesome concert programme and in performing of the concert (the selection must consist of a polyphony, orchestral form (symphonic music), manor piece and etude.);
To give an overview of the piano repertoire and the practical work as a concertmaster in different ensembles and collectives;
Guide the student to shape the student`s future work as a music teacher independantly and creatively – to choose a repertoire that takes into consideration age and ability, and present it attractively to the pupils.
Brief description of the course
Focus on the student`s final concert programme, which consists of a polyphony, symphonic music, manor piece or etude. The programme ought to comprise the most important and valuable parts of the literature of music. At the end of the V term the student has an opportunity to play works for two pianos – concerts and ensembles. Students with less experience are advised to furbish their skills in accompanying the children`s songs (from the songbooks of the forms 1-12).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Mastering freely the aforementioned repertoire. Proficiency in styles and forms according to the academic programme. Virtuosity in mastering a pair of scales in maximum pace. Skills to design accompaniments to children`s songs. Skills to accompany the children´s songs with soloists, ensembles and choirs.
