Course aims
To acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about the peculiarities of spatial arts:
- knowledge of creating an art form through theoretical learning and practical work
- knowledge and skills of 3-dimensional art modeling methods in different materials
- knowledge and skills of creating a volumetric-spatial composition and using a sculptural form as part of spatial art.
Brief description of the course
The subject is divided into 2 periods - paper studio and plaster studio.
Paper studio. Using paper to create space art. Design and development of surface structures and spatial images. Ways of creating and composition of three-dimensional images. Architect.
Plaster studio. Use of gypsum in art work, traditional and modern practices of form creation. Creating a plastic sculptural form. Molding and casting techniques in art, positive and negative surface forms. Use of plastic art forms in the composition.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- acquires theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of selected materials in constructive and plastic mold making;
- acquires theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of selected materials about the work processes and peculiarities of form creation;
- acquires theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of selected materials from the development of volumetric spatial images.
