Course aims
To present the history of stained glass and application of various techniques.
Brief description of the course
An overview of the history of stained glass. Different functions of stained glass. Stained glass in architecture. Sculptural stained glass. Stained glass in mini format. Using glass painting and melting techniques. Presentation of the features of stained glass. Principles of planning a glass work and the planning process. One work or a composition of several stained glass works are submitted for assessment.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
To learn about the history and fields of use of stained glass; to be able to visualise and plan a mini form; to learn the basics of producing stained glass.
