Course aims
To provide opportunities to learn using optical features of glass in room design and in solutions with a glass object or glass room.
Brief description of the course
A theoretical overview of the fields of use of glass art: glass in architecture, room design, natural and artificial environments. Glass art and other fields of glass: painting, graphic art, sculpture and others. Using glass as an optical material: stained glass, lights, glass sculpture, graphic art on glass and so on. Practical work is based on stained glass. Stained glass as part of room design. The draft may involve other glass-related objects in the planned room. Production of a stained glass fragment or a lamp.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
To learn about the fields of use of glass art; to be able to visualise and include glass art in room design projects, and consider its optical impact; to be able to make stained glass objects.
