Course aims
To give a systematic overview about basics of organisational communication, theories, behavior and leadership within organisations as well as basics of communication planning and management.
Brief description of the course
Lectures and seminars to analyze topics:
Communication processes in the different type of organisations: Mashine methaphore, Human relations oriented, bureaucratic, low hierarchy organisations etc.
Connections between organisational behaviour, culture, decisions and communication.
Role of internal communication in the workers motivation processes. Managers and management communication. Etc.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- can define what is organisational communication and is familiar with the basic concepts of it;
- can name the actors of internal communication, their tasks, objectives and knows the basic measurement tools;
- is able to recognise the traditional bottlenecks of internal communication;
- can analyse internal communication;
- can make comparisions between different organisational theories;
- knows the basics of organisational behaviour;
- understands the basics of communication management and planning;
- knows the basics of leadership and change communication.
