Course aims
Create readiness for acquiring and using the methods that are activity and interaction centred and support self-direction and self-reflection by an adult learner.
Brief description of the course
Method as an approach. Objectives and principles of applying methods. Principles of method selection. Methods used in planning, conducting, assessing, analyzing of an educational process and giving feedback. Activity and interaction centred methods in adult education. Methods that support self-directed learning and reflection of an adult learner. Different learning environments. Principles of compiling study materials.
The subject is based on the analysis of conducting one module or a subject (educational project).
Content of independent work: justified selection of methods and procedures, compiling an educational programme, conducting an example lesson, compiling study materials.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
Student:
- designs a learning environment that supports learning and applies teaching/learning methods based on the purpose of the training and specificity of the target group;
- applies different methods, is able to analyze and give feedback on the method used;
- compiles, describes and analyzes teaching methods proceeding from the peculiarities of the adult learning process;
- is able to compile study material by using different approaches;
