Course aims
Create opportunities for the development of readiness for recognizing and supporting group learning.
Brief description of the course
Group learning as a resource. Study group and its development. Learning through group experience. Group functioning and effectiveness, group learning, group dynamics. Group and group processes. Essence of a group conflict and overcoming it. Social influence of a group. Influence of group emotions on learning and individual learning. Opportunities of educators in supporting learning in a group.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- analyzes the peculiarities of study groups, understands the essence of group learning and its influence on individual learning;
- can analyze oneself as a group member and group learner, knows how to support group learning.
