Course aims
To create opportunities for acknowledging the role of the ethical special pedagogue in the context of teamwork. To create prerequisites for developing a systematic and complex understanding of the counselling process.
To provide opportunities for familiarising themselves with various methods and techniques used in the counselling process. To support the development of preparedness to work with various target groups.
Brief description of the course
The content of ethics; the emergence and evolution of ethics throughout history; teachers´ ethics. The psychology of communication, forms of communication, different techniques of communication, familiarising themselves with students with special needs in different contexts.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is aware of the professional ethics of the pedagogue;
- is able to identify the need for counselling, and to use the counselling situation in a systematic and complex way;
- is aware of the techniques of communicating with different target groups;
- follows and values ethical principles related to the counselling process;
- is able to analyse their activities and role in the counselling process.
