Course aims
Provide opportunities to gain skills to analyse critically different cultural environments and to acquire the necessasry tools of analysis.
Brief description of the course
During the course students will practice different ways and options of analysing their own and remote cultural environments. Some significant texts of cultural analysis are introduced and students will acquire the main terminology of cultural analysis. A significant proportion of the course consists of seminars and practical analysis tasks, that the lecturer will choose according to available opportunities and the interests of students.
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
- is capable skills to analyse critically one’s own and foreign cultural environments;
- has knowledges of main terminology and methods of analysis of the cultural environment;
- has ability to appreciate and value different cultural environments;
- has in depth knowledge of one area/subject field of analysis of the cultural environment.
