Course aims
To offer an overview of the most important periods of the 20th century.
Brief description of the course
Literature before The Spanish civil war: the Modernism and the Generation of '98 (Unamuno, Valle-Inclán, Azorín, Baroja, Machado. Jiménez). The avant-garde and the Generation of ’27 (Gómez de la Serna Salinas, Guillén, García Lorca, Alonso, Aleixandre, Cernuda). Post-war literature (Cela, Laforet, Quiroga, Goytisolo, Delibes). Review of recent Spanish literature (García Morales, Llamazares, Montero, Millás, Zafón).
Learning outcomes in the course
Upon completing the course the student:
The capacity to understand the main tendencies in the 20th-century Spanish literature and to analyse the discourses of the 20th-century Spanish literature.
